β I Felt Disappointed in Myself β Gigi Jasmine tells Biggie.
As the camera settled into the calm of the diary room, Big Brotherβs familiar voice echoed gently.
Biggie: Hello Gigi Jasmine, welcome to your diary session. How are you today? A soft smile spread across Jasmineβs face, the kind thatβs been coming more easily lately.
Jasmine: In all honesty, Iβm absolutely great. Thank you for giving us this debate. I feel seen. Iβve been smiling a lot more. I feelβ¦intellectual. That sense of fulfillment, of finally being acknowledged, hung beautifully in the air Β but Biggie wasnβt done just yet.
Biggie: And what happened yesterday?
Jasmine took a deep breath, diving into the victory challenge issue, recounting how things unfolded, the disappointments, the lessons. Then came Biggieβs curveball.
Biggie: And where is the iceberg? Her reply was almost poetic.
Jasmine: In the middle of the ocean. But my real problem was with my canoe with Victory. Iβm learning in your house. But then she pausedβ¦ her voice dropped.
Jasmine: I felt disappointed in myself. I allowed someone to make me forget why I came here. But Iβm better now, because I remembered Iβm doing this not just for me. Tears welled up. A crack in the strong surface. Vulnerability.
Big Brother, always calm, asked if she would invest in another canoe.
Jasmine: At this point, no. I want to focus. I want to keep my eyes on why Iβm here. When talk turned to the new Head of House, Victory, Jasmine didnβt hold back.
Jasmine: In all honesty, he struggles with how he talks to people. Power or not, respect has to be earned. Sometimes he makes comments in pidgin that feel demeaning. Itβs not always what he says, but how. There was even a time I had to apologize on his behalf. Still, she remained fair.
Jasmine: But I think heβll do well. Iβm genuinely happy for him. Then came the hot topic, Victoryβs decision to save Kayinkunmi.
Jasmine: No, I wasnβt surprised. I was relieved and grateful. I honestly thought heβd pick Bright, they have a solid relationship. But Iβm glad Kayinkunmi got another week to prove himself to Big Brother and to the people.
Before the session wrapped, Biggie asked if she had anything else she wanted to share.
Jasmine: Yes. I just want to say thank you. You always call me at the perfect time. I really love talking to you. She opened up more, even asked for advice. It wasnβt just a diary session. It felt like therapy. Like home.
Biggieβs voice returned, calm and reassuring Biggie: You lost some tears and gained some strength. You donβt need Big Brother to tell youβ¦ You are all you need.
Jasmine wiped her face, eyes brighter now and said Β βThank you, Biggie. Iβm going to make you proud. Iβm proud of myself. I thought I was going to need a whole tissue boxβ
And with that, the diary room lights dimmed a littleΒ not in sadness, but in quiet strength.
