1. Starting Date
The biggest reality television show in Africa, Big Brother Naija Show will start on scheduled to start on Sunday July 28th, 2024 and will run for 10 weeks with the grand finale scheduled to hold on October 6, 2024.
In an exciting twist, the 9th season will be a showcase of pairs, duos – celebrating and testing the ties that bind and stretching the trust that hold friendships and relationships together to create an electrifying blend of uniquely interesting characters and faces in the house. Other new elements this season are:
- The return of the Ninjas who are an integral part of housemates’ experience in the house.
- Headline sponsor now goes by the brand name Guinness.
2. The Housemates
The Big Brother Naija season 9 will feature housemate pairs, that is the housemates that will be featured in this year’s show will enter biggie’s house as pairs. The pairs can be best friends, relation or anyone they vibe with. This is the first of its kind as Biggie never stops the endless twists.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, a former housemate in Big Brother Nigeria show back in 2006 and host of the last seven seasons of BBNaija – See Gobbe, Double Wahala, Pepper Dem, Lockdown, Shine Ya Eye, Level Up and BBNAll-Stars – will return as this season’s host. The lawyer turned media personality has risen to become one of the most loved and admired media personalities in Nigeria for his versatility, wittiness, and impeccable style. Besides being the host of BBNaija, he is also the host of one of Africa Magic’s legal reality TV series, Judging Matters and the long running talk show, Rubbin’ Minds on Channels TV.
3. The Winner’s Grand Prize
The grand prize for the winner of this season is rumored to be around 65 million naira ($80,000) cash prize and a car gift, with other endorsement deals with the show’s sponsors. Housemates will also win additional money from daily sponsored tasks from the sponsors.
4. Show Duration and Final Day.
The Big Brother Naija season 9 show will run for 71 days (10 weeks) with the grand final scheduled to for Sunday October 6, 2024.
