BBNaija 2021 Diary Session (Week 4)
The Housemates have spent Day 27 talking to Big Brother and getting ready for their Abeg task.
As they speak with Big Brother during their Diary Sessions, the Housemates appear to be in a more solemn mood.
A lot of this is just ordinary malaise — folks are tired, migraines are on the rise, and at least one person was nauseated.
Despite this, they made it through the session and spoke to Big Brother about the Abeg Task for the day, which was to create a campaign to raise mental health awareness.
This could also have contributed to their gloomy demeanors; the topic matter is heavy, and some of the Housemates have personal experience with mental health concerns. Because the Shine Ya Eye House is made up of survivors of assault, abuse, and warfare, it’s not surprising that some of the Housemates have had mental health issues in the past. Even those who haven’t personally experienced it know someone who has. Maria was extremely distraught as she told the story of her brother’s schizophrenia diagnosis.
Biggie also asked the Housemates about their winnings so far, so the meetings weren’t all serious. Some of the Housemates have done exceptionally well for themselves; Michael has already made almost N1.5 million, which is impressive for someone who arrived two weeks after the rest of them. “I’m going to spend it,” Saskay said when asked what she planned to do with her winnings. That one is a wealth of knowledge.
In other news, Peace is seeking for her wig, Pere is irritated that a bathroom door was shut, and nearly everyone wants the air conditioning changed. Life goes on in the Big Brother House.
