2021 Top 10 Richest Housemate in BBNaija House (Week 10) – Task Winners and Cash Prizes
It’s not only about the Grand Prize. Big Brother’s sponsors provide numerous opportunities for the Housemates to pad their pockets.
Being a Big Brother Housemate can be quite lucrative! Obviously, winning the Grand Prize of N90 million will go a long way, but with all of the sponsored Tasks thrown the Housemates’ way, there are plenty of opportunities to make a buck every week. The housemates have won a different cash prize from their task presentations.
The first of these was Glover, which scored Arin, Emmanuel, Jaypaul, Niyi, Saskay, Whitemoney, and Yousef each $500 (about N205 000). The amount of the prizes quickly increased after that. Airtel was able to pay slightly under N143 000 to each of the seven Housemates, while WAW split N1 million among the six winners of their Task and gave each Housemate a one-year supply of product the following week. All of this took place prior to the arrival of the “new” Housemates, JMK, Michael, Kayvee, and Queen.
The next large sponsor on the Housemates was Guinness, who gave the seven winning Housemates half a million Naira and a half-year supply of Guinness. That’s a lot of cash, as well as a lot of drink.
SuperSport got involved (since that’s their main business) and awarded N300,000 to the five winners of their task’s “puzzle phase,” and a quarter of a million to each of the six members of Team Premium who won the task’s “creative expressions” phase. Darling gave N750 000 to five Housemates after that, and Storm gave N1.5 million to the six Task champions.
Tecno opted to go all out, awarding three different teams in three different rounds: The winners of the two Teaser rounds of their Task received N100,000 and Tecno branded products, while the five Main Task winners each received a quarter million Naira and a Tecno Phantom smartphone.
Patricia did what Patricia does and gave the winners of their Task $1000 in Bitcoin – around N411 at the time of writing. Dano was the third company to join in on the fun, offering each of the Task’s winners N300,000 Naria as well as a year’s supply of Dano products.
Supa Kommando opted to give only two Housemates the prize, but they made it count: each received N2 million, as well as a year’s supply of Supa Kommando and a one-year contract as Supa Kommando brand influencers. Yoh!
Thus, you just saw a bunch of stats, but what you really want to know is how much money each of the Housemates has made so far — who is turning this Big Brother Naija thing into a lucrative side hustle? So, we’re here to help. We examined the figures and came up with the following key findings:
After their tremendous Supa Kommando victory, Saskay and Cross, unsurprisingly, lead the list with N2.8 million and N2.65 million, respectively. Emmanuel, Liquorose, Yousef, Nini, Angel, and Michael are among the players who have won N1 million or more. Queen, Beatrice, Yerins, Boma, and Jackie B are near the bottom of the list.
Bet9ja came to the party with a sum of one million going to Saga, Tega, Yousef, Sammie and Saskay. For those of you having a long day, that’s N200 000 each. Revolution Plus joined the fray with a massive purse – N1.1 million going to the team of Pere and Liquorose, while Whitemoney, Cross and Jaypaul took home a combined N1.4 million.
Unilever divided its money between various teams for a number of Tasks: “Best Pickup Line” went to Michael and Saga, each winning N100 000, “Best Dressed” went to Whitemoney and Queen, along with N100 000. Pere and Angel each took home N200 000 for having the best photos, and “Best Story Concept” won N200 000 for each of the team made up by Liquorose, Jaypaul and Saga.
Boomplay threw N500 000 at Jackie B as the “playlist winner”, Team Highlife – Whitemoney, Boma, Tega, Liquorose, Jaypaul and Queen, shared in the big winnings of N1.5 million.
Boy, oh boy, did Pepsi come to the party! Michael, in first position for the Task, took home N3.5 million, and an all-expenses paid trip to One Africa Music Festival in Dubai (Dubai?) as well as a year’s supply of Pepsi. Liquorose scored the same trip as Michael, along with N1.5 million, and Pere won N1 million (and, yes, a trip to Dubai).
BuyPower lived up to their name and threw half a million Naira at Jaypaul, Saskay, Angel and Saga, and covered three months of their utility bills. Whitemoney, Nini, Pere, Saga and Queen each took home N200 000 and grocery vouchers valued at N50 000. Liquorose and Cross each took home another N100 000 from Bet9ja Integration, while Tecno threw N500 000 at Jackie B, Jaypaul and Emmanuel.
Piggy Vest came in with the pinata challenge which won Queen a quarter of a million in a vacation fund, as well as numerous Housemates Flex Naira wallets stocked with funds, and thousands of “Piggy Points”. In the “Balance the Scale” challenge, Saskay walked away with N1.5 million, Liquorose with N750 000 and Yousef and Angel took home half a million. When 03 Capital came to the party, Liquorose, Cross, Jaypaul and Yousef each took home a tidy sum of N500 000.
