QV speaks after Her Voluntary Exit from the 2022 Big brother Mzansi Show

On day three, Big Brother Mzansi ex-housemate QV requested an early exit from Biggie’s house because her health issues couldn‘t withstand the stress of being surrounded by 17 strangers (housemates). Biggies entrusted roommates with “wearing their emotions on their sleeves” and sharing their background so they could get to know one another.

It was QV’s time after a barrage of poignant stories and tears. She brushed her hands together and laid them on the cushion at the top of her thighs after a long sigh. “Give me a few seconds, people,” says the narrator.

When she eventually spoke out, she did so in a weak voice, practically choking back tears as she described her childhood tragedy. “I had previously been sexually abused by three separate males before the age of seven.” I’m going to focus on one in particular because [then] you’ll have a greater understanding of who I am.”

She explained that her mother was a frequent traveler who was rarely at home, so she lived at home with her stepfather, who was also employed. Every day after school, she had to go to a friend’s house.

“This friend of mine had a brother, and he was 19 at the time. I remember this vividly. Every day when I came back from school, that guy would rape me.”

She went on to say that she used to steal money a lot as a kid, and that one time she stole R100 with the aim of fleeing and indulging herself.

She had no idea she’d get a scolding from her mother, who had no idea what was going on at the moment. QV claimed the incident made her dislike her mother for years until she revealed her trauma during matriculation.

Her story left many hurt to the core.

QV appeared aloof after Monday, and she struggled to establish friends and be herself in the Big Brother house. She subsequently decided to quit the show in order to cope with her mental health issues.

The 23-year-old from Mahikeng said her tearful farewell on Wednesday morning, shocking many but praising her decision.

The organizers of the reality show affirmed her exit with an official statement.

She expressed her gratitude for the chance today in one of her media appearances, despite the fact that she was unable to stay in the house for the whole 70 days owing to her health issues. She thanked everyone who supported her up and appreciated her plight, as well as the naysayers, who she claimed she understands completely.

“I thank each and every one of you that received me well and those that were sensitive about my situation, generally for the love and support, I’m overwhelmed. Even the negative comments I understand, I don’t hold it to anyone.”
