The Big Brother Naija 2026 Week 1 vote has taken an unexpected turn after Big Brother introduced a major twist that changed the normal nomination process. Instead of voting to save nominated housemates from eviction, viewers are voting to choose one male and one female housemate to become the Gambits of the Season.

First Head of House Challenge

Chimsom Chuka emerged as the winner of the Big Brother Naija 2026 Week 1 Head of House Challenge, making him the first Head of House of the season.

As Head of House, Chimsom Chuka earned automatic immunity from nominations this week, guaranteeing his place in the house for another week.

Abi also impressed during the challenge and was named the Deputy Head of House after delivering an outstanding performance.

Big Brother Naija 2026 Week 1 Nominations 

There are no real eviction nominations in Week 1. Instead, Big Brother introduced a brand new twist that will shape the rest of the season.

This week, viewers are voting to select one male housemate and one female housemate to become the Gambits of the Season.

What Is the Gambit Twist?

The Gambit title comes with unique privileges as well as significant limitations.

The rules are as follows:

1. The male and female housemates who receive the highest number of votes will become the official Gambits of the Season.
2. Both Gambits are guaranteed a place in the Big Brother Naija 2026 Grand Finale and cannot be evicted.
3. Although they will remain in the house until the final day, they will not be eligible to compete for the grand prize.
4. The Gambits will continue to participate in weekly tasks, games, and sponsored presentations alongside the other housemates.
5. Big Brother will assign exclusive missions and special tasks that only the Gambits must complete throughout the season.
