There’s Favouritism’ in House – Uriel Laments
Uriel, a housemate in Big Brother Naija All Stars, expressed her distress over perceived favoritism within the house, shedding tears as she discussed her concerns. During her diary session, Uriel lamented the unjust treatment she felt she was receiving from her fellow housemates.
She specifically pointed out that during their wager tasks, Venita consistently assigned major roles to Mercy Eke while assigning her (Uriel) minor roles. Uriel voiced her frustration, stating, “Today, during our wager task rehearsal, Venita assigned me the role of a midwife. I want to say this, Big Brother, I’m not boasting, but I believe I could excel in the role of a queen. However, a power dynamic is at play here. Venita is prioritizing Mercy due to their friendship.”
Uriel went on to advocate for a fair and open audition process when deciding roles, rather than favoritism. She expressed that while Mercy might be a wonderful person, it’s important not to consistently place her on a pedestal solely because she won a previous season. Uriel emphasized the need to give other housemates an opportunity to shine, regardless of their past victories or losses.
The housemate also revealed her sense of frustration during the current week, reflecting on her recent interactions with Neo and Tolanibaj. Uriel expressed regret over almost becoming entangled in a love triangle and evaluated her involvement with certain individuals. She questioned whether her efforts were truly worthwhile, pondering if she had inadvertently allowed herself to be perceived as competing for a man’s attention. Uriel concluded by stating that she often feels overshadowed and devalued in comparison to a particular individual.
