2. The Live Audience is back

Oh, joy! We can finally experience the Big Brother Naija Live Shows for what they are; a colourful and energetic feast for the senses. For the first time since Pepper Dem in 2019, all our Live Eviction Shows will be graced by a Live Audience. You could be a part of the excitement as our presenter, Ebuka, gists about the juicy drama from the House.

3. Return of the Ninjas!

This season’s Housemates are not the only new additions to the show. While we eagerly wait to find out who the new Housemates are, you can look forward to the return of the Ninjas. They are taking no prisoners this season with the pranks they will pull on the Housemates.

4. An epic Double Launch

Big Brother Naija Season 7 is launching on the 23rd and the 24th of July 2022. Yes, you read that right, this season of will be so huge we have to launch it twice. What does this mean? Well, Biggie has us all guessing.

5. Did you miss Ebuka?

One thing our BB Naija presenter, Ebuka is gonna do is drip and serve vawulence. He go baff up in Agbadas and dapper suits, but we can’t wait to see if he will add a new designer to his go to brands: D29, Vanskere and Mai Atafo. One thing we can count on, though, is that tables will be shaken.

6. Grand Prize

The grand prize for the winner of the Big Brother Naija season 7 has been increased to 100 million Naira. Recall that the previous season winner received 90 million naira.

Some Facts About the BBNaija Season 7

When is BBNaija season 7 starting and how long will it run for?

BBNaija season 7 will premiere on Saturday, July 23, 2022 with a first launch show followed by a second launch show on Sunday, July 24. The season will run for 10 weeks, with the finale on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

Why has BBNaija returned for a 7th season?

Following the huge success of the sixth season not just in Nigeria but across Africa, we’ve recognized that this show resonates with our customers and as part of our aim to provide viewers with exciting local content that they love, we decided to bring back the show for a seventh season.

What’s new about this seventh season?

There are four new elements in this season. They are:

• The grand prize of a N100m worth of prizes
• The return of the Ninjas who are an integral part of housemates’ experience in the house
• The return of the live audience which was unavailable in the sixth season.
• Headline sponsor now goes by the brand name Pocket by Piggyvest and associate sponsor – Flutterwave

When and where did the auditions for this season happen?

The auditions for the new season kicked off on May 15, 2022, and ended on May 30, 2022, on the Africa Magic website. It was open to Nigerians from the ages of 21 and above with valid identity documents

What’s the grand prize for this season’s winner?

This season’s winner will walk away with a whopping N100m grand prize which includes a N50m cash prize, top of the range SUV from Nigerian automaker, Innoson Motors, trip for two packaged by Travelbeta, among many others.

Who is this season’s presenter? Will it be Ebuka Obi-Uchendu again?

Yes. Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, a former housemate in Big Brother Nigeria show back in 2006 and host of the last five seasons of BBNaija – See Gobbe, Double Wahala, Pepper Dem, Lockdown and Shine Ya Eye – will return as this season’s host. The lawyer turned media personality has risen to become one of the most loved and admired media personalities in Nigeria for his versatility, wittiness and impeccable style. Besides being the host of BBNaija, he is also the host of one of Africa Magic’s legal reality TV series, Judging Matters and the long running talk show, Rubbin’ Minds on Channels TV.

What will be the theme of this year’s season?

As is the norm, we do not reveal the theme of each season until the live launch show when Ebuka, announces it. So, keep watching DStv & GOtv for the big reveal!

Who will be Big Brother in this season of the show?

A mystery Big Brother has been selected. As in all Big Brother shows around the world, the identity of Big Brother is a mystery and will remain so before, during and after the show.

The nature of some of the content on the BBNaija channel is against my beliefs and values.

How were the final housemates selected after the online auditions?

Entries received from the online auditions were screened for eligibility and suitability. Successful entries were further screened, and the final shortlist selected after our standard psych evaluations, interviews and medicals.

How did you ensure the quality of housemates match or even surpass those of previous seasons?

The same rules apply for all Big Brother auditions and our selectors applied the same experience from the previous seasons. We will always follow the same guidelines in terms of selecting housemates based on character and personality amongst other things.

Will the housemates observe social distancing when in the house?

Housemates will live and interact normally in the house as they have been cleared of any medical conditions including COVID-19.
