Akunna Okey is a Corporate and Entertainment Lawyer and comes from a family where everyone has an amazing voice. She spends most of her time singing in the bathroom and also showcases her vocal talent on her social media platforms. Akunna believes the world deserves to hear her sing and says it’s about time she commercialises her amazing gift.

She was quite nervous the first time she appeared in front of our Judges and Obi Asika had to urge her to try and relax. Despite this, her nervousness was still evident all through her performance. “You have a wonderful voice so you shouldn’t be so nervous,” Seyi Shay remarked as she gave her verdict.

It’s been weeks since that Audition and the once nervous Akunna has now turned into a queen on stage. Her performance during the Group Stage where she covered up for a group member who forgot the lyrics, and her last performance before being announced as a member of the elite Top 11 showed us a whole new side to Akunna. A side that is going to be a worthy challenger in this season of Nigerian Idol.
