Voting takes place on Mobile, Web, SMS, the MyDStv app (DStv subscribers) and MyGOtv App (GOtv subscribers), only. Voting on the MyDStv and MyGOtv App is open to active Nigerian subscribers only.

Big Brother Nigeria voting takes place after the nomination live show and is open to registered voters and via SMS (Nigeria only).

To be eligible to vote for your favourite housemate, you’ll need to register on the Big Brother web and mobi site and in the MyDStv app or GOtv app if you are a subscriber.

Please note: Customers will receive only 100 additional votes in either the DStv or GOtv apps. They will not receive 100 votes in each app i.e. should a customer have both subscriptions, they will still only receive 100 additional votes.

How long is Season four of Big Brother Naija?

The first live show of the fourth edition of Big Brother Naija will aired on Sunday, 30 June 2019 and will run for 14 weeks. The finale will air Sunday 6 October, 2019

What’s new about this fourth edition?

The show will be broadcast LIVE from Nigeria where the house will now be located, with a new headline sponsor, Bet9ja.

When and where did the auditions for this edition happen?

Auditions for Big Brother Naija held on the 1st and 2nd of February 2019 in eight cities across Nigeria – an increase from six locations in the previous seasons. The cities were: Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Warri, Calabar and Benin. Then in March, we staged a first-of-of-its-kind online audition and voting where fans and viewers voted online for one additional housemate based on personality.

Ebuka has risen to become one of the most loved and admired media personalities in the Nigerian entertainment industry. As in all Big Brother shows around the world, the identity of Big Brother is a mystery and will remain so before, during and after the show.

Big Brother Naija will be broadcast to audiences across the African continent and the language most common to our audiences is English and therefore Big Brother Naija will be an English language production. However, our housemates allowed to converse in Pidgin, which is often subtitled during the daily highlights show.

How were contestants selected for Big Brother Naija?

MultiChoice Nigeria announced a Call to Audition in eight locations across Nigeria on the 1st and 2nd of February 2019: Warri, Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Ibadan, Calabar and Benin on Africa Magic channels, owned and third-party social media platforms and on public platforms like radio and in print media. Interested parties over 18 with a valid Nigerian passport were invited to attend the audition where over 15,000 people turned up for the auditions and taken through various stages of auditions until the finalists were selected.

Then in March, we held a first-of-its-kind online audition to give the fans the opportunity to select one more housemate to enter the house. Same rules applied as well; applicants were to be over 18 with a valid Nigerian passport. From the pool of over 3000 entries received, 10 were shortlisted for fans to vote one unique personality they would want to have in the house.
