Jackie B and Team Highlife Wins BBNaija 2021 BOOMPLAY Task

For their Boomplay Task last night, the Shine Ya Eye geng took part in a variety of music-themed games. This Task couldn’t have arrived at a better moment for Housemates who have recently discovered joy in expressing themselves through their newly acquired musical instruments. They not only had a good time, but they also got to hold their own album listening party.

Each step of this music-themed Task was broken down into three parts, and they had to complete each one. They had to go to the Arena to begin the first task, where they were separated into teams and given 10 minutes to build and store a playlist using the Boomplay app. They also had to use the titles of the songs accessible on Boomplay to build a story with their playlists.

• Batch 1 – Queen, Jaypaul, Angel, and Michael
• Batch 2 – Whitemoney, Saskay, Boma, and Saga
• Batch 3 – Peace, Emmanuel, and Liquorose
• Batch 4 – Jackie B., Pere, and Tega
• Batch 5 – Yousef, Cross, and Nini

Guessing game

The second part of the Task, “Guess the Song,” was designed to put each housemate’s musical knowledge to the test. There were two rounds to the task. The House had to be divided into three teams for this round.

Meet the teams

• Team Afrobeats – Saskay, Cross, Yousef, Nini, Michael, Jackie B
• Team Highlife – Liquorose, Queen, Boma, Tega, Jaypaul
• Team Alte – Angel, Peace, Pere, Emmanuel, Saga

Each team had to designate one person to be completely accountable for supplying the answers. Members of the Team, on the other hand, were free to deliberate and submit answers to their representatives. Team Afrobeats was the first to perform, and due to a slight glitch, they were given a second opportunity. Before Team Alte got a try, Team Highlife went first and did a great job guessing the songs.

In the second phase, each team picked a representative who chose a topic and also served as their representation during the task. Four songs were played based on the themes chosen by each representative, and they were needed to complete the words starting where the music started.

The Tiwa Savage listening party

Boomplay spiced up the task by allowing the Shine Ya Eye geng to host their own Tiwa Savage album listening party. The Housemates gathered in the Arena and were treated to great appetizers as they sat back and watched the best of Tiwa’s recent EP. As the music played, the Housemates danced and bopped. You could tell they yearned for the outside world.

The result

After originally complaining about being unlucky with Tasks, Jackie B has had a lucky run in the House. She won the playlist round and smiled as she walked into the bank with five hundred thousand Naira (N500,000). Team Highlife won the second Task, and they will split one million, five hundred thousand Naira (N1,500,000) among themselves.
