Top 7 Nigerian Idol Season 6 Contestants (Daniel Eliminated)

The Nigerian Idol Top 7 were unveiled, as well as the end of Daniel’s journey on the show, on a fantastic night of colourful performances. Contestants on Nigerian Idol took a trip back in time last night, performing their favorite songs from the year they were born.

Beyonce

Beyonce Ajomiwe kicked off the night with a cover of Rihanna’s 2004 hit “Unfaithful.” DJ Sose complimented her on her good breath control, but Seyi Shay felt the song was inappropriate for her.

Comfort

Comfort was up next. Her rendition of Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful” impressed the judges and demonstrated her progression in the competition. She was advised, however, to improve her vocals and stage presence.

Francis

Atela Francis’ soulful performance of Bryan Adams’ rock classic Please Forgive Me” left the judges speechless. When Obi Asika finally spoke, he commented that Francis had just delivered a stadium worthy performance.

Faith

Faith Jason was another contestant that left the judges stunned. His choice of song, “You Are Not Alone,” was a tribute to his idol, Michael Jackson. DJ Sose said that he was the complete package, combining his voice, ability, and stage presence.

Kingdom

Kingdom, the fans favorite, followed Francis and Faith Jason’s performances with a magnificent rendition of Toni Braxton’s “Unbreak My Heart.” He chose the song after reading fans’ comments encouraging him to be expressive, and this was his reaction. Seyi Shay thought that this week’s performance was an improvement over last week’s and that he had redeemed himself. Obi Asika concurred, stating that Kingdom had arrived and that they had all been waiting for him to sing and perform like he had during the audition.

Akunna

Akunna sang LeAnn Rimes’ 1997 song “How Do I Live?” Obi Asika remarked that she was excellent, as she had been in previous performances.

Emmanuel

Emmanuel brought the night to a close with a stunning rendition of Seal’s “Kiss from a Rose.” All of the judges gave him a standing ovation and applauded his singing talent and stage presence. Daniel’s journey on Nigerian Idol came to an end yesterday night, and it was the end of the road for him.
