Nigerian Idol 2023 Season 8 Starting Date, Time and DSTV, GOTV Channel

Following the success of Nigerian Idol season Seven (7), which saw Progress emerge the winner, MultiChoice Nigeria has announced the return of the competition for a eighth season. Upload a 30 second video of your talent, upload it online and you could be well on your way to stardom.

The 2023 Nigerian Idol season 8 will start on Sunday 23rd April, 2023 and will be aired on DSTV and GOTV every Sunday.

Auditions for the seventh season of Nigerian Idol opened on Friday, 13 January and closed on Saturday, 28 January 2023. Interested contestants were instructed to upload a 30 seconds video of them singing any song online. Contestants must also be between 16-30 years of age.

Announcing the new season, Executive Head, Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice Nigeria, Busola Tejumola, said: “MultiChoice remains committed to promoting and giving young music talents in Nigeria a platform to shine and actualize their dreams. Season eight promises to be even bigger and more entertaining. So, if you believe you have what it takes to be the next Nigerian Idol, be a part of the auditions starting April 23.”

The show will premiere on April 23, 2023, as D’banj, Simi, and Obi Asika return to preside as judges, alongside beloved host IK Osakioduwa. This follows the brilliant success of the past edition that saw Progress Chukwuyem emerge as the winner and walk away with a prize package worth N100 million worth.

The Nigerian Idol Season 8 will be aired on DSTV and GOTV for Nigerian subscribers. viewers can watch 24 hours coverage of the show on the following channels;
